Ready for anything: inside our Emergency Unit

What happens when you arrive at our Emergency Unit — and why direct access to specialists makes a difference.

Emergencies rarely come with warning. Our Emergency Unit is staffed by doctors and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with resuscitation bays, imaging and laboratory support close at hand.

When you arrive, a nurse assesses how urgently you need care. The most serious cases are seen first, and our team keeps you and your family informed while you wait.

If you need surgery, our specialist surgeons and theatres are on site. That means less time between diagnosis and treatment — which, in an emergency, matters most.
